The industry is not always the main culprit in droughts: check out this video, and you will see your backyard choices are important.

It is probably a proof that a sustainable developpement era is coming to the US!

Thanks Claire. I couldn't play it - but in Australia, Industry and Agriculture accounts for close to 90% of water consumption. And residents are pretty diligent and dobbing in those that transgress on water their gardens. The issue with our beautiful city of Melbourne is that many of the parks and gardens are eurpoean designed and influenced - with trees use to seasons and a lot of rain. Sadly, they haven't had much of anything lately, and a lot of trees, some quite old and historic, have died.
You are right that sustainability begins at home. I am about to build a house, but will now take some time to determine the alternatives in terms of building materials and wastages - and how best the outside enviornment can deal with my 'footprint'.
