I made reference some time ago in Ruminations to efforts that were being made in Hong Kong to embrace the ideal of industrial ecology through the recycling of waste cooking oil. Further good news comes in the form of the government's Council for Sustainable Development which is doing a grand job engaging the community in a discussion about Hong Kong's sustainability. There are active discussion forums on renewable energy, solid waste management, and urban living space, although as my Cantonese is a little rusty, I am not able to follow all the threads ;-)(Thanks to Martin Chan of Anvison for the tip off!).
