A stunning piece of work by Karl Burkart of greendig fame which provides a great overview as to how the environmental movement can leverage web 2.0 technologies to get its message across.

although i can not deny that this slide show is really effect in making me more aware of the online resources that are available to me. i cant help but refuse to cloak myself with the complete feeling of content for environmental issues when the movement itself (or at least the one depicted in this slide show) is being bases so much on its technological foundations. how will environmental awareness reach and effect those without the luxury of an internet connection? rather than counting the reduction in our ecological footprints, perhaps we should be investing more time and money into making cheaper and more sustainable methods of creating electricity and fuel, so that subsequently we can deal with humanitarian problems in impoverished areas. There has got to be more to the environmental movement than a commitment from a key board.
