How to apply to university in the digital age

Frankly, some of the applications highlighted in this Newsweek clip are a little dodgy, but then the same might be said about a lot of the traditional written submissions. What I like about this, is that at least there is some acknowledgement by the participating universities that the communication medium of choice in the digital world need not necessarily be text. The ability to manipulate digital media tools is a 21st century skill, and if universities are supposed to be turning out graduates with the new literacy, then they might justifiably want to sift through applicants according to their aptitude in this domain.
