Just back from a week in Australia attending conferences. It was my first trip ‘home’ in four months and a thoroughly pleasant experience catching up with mates and talking ‘Strayn’ knowing it would be understood and acted upon with an ‘oh yeah mate’ or a ‘no worries’. The big news was the release from prison of Pauline Hanson.
What a hullabaloo! All those who endorsed the sentence are now running for cover and some people are tipping the resurgence of One Nation as a political force on the back of a sympathy vote for Pauline’s martyrdom. The truth of the matter is that no-one has a clue what the fall-out will be as my fave commentator, Phillip Adams, notes in his article in this morning’s Oz, Clouds darken over the PM’s walk in the park.
